About Recovery Support Services

Recovery Support Services is a mobile peer-to-peer service offered to individuals in recovery or seeking recovery from a substance use disorder. Individuals are paired with a Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) who has been credentialed through the Pennsylvania Certification Board. A CRS will use their lived experience in helping individuals establish a healthy life and recovery program. Collectively, a CRS and individual will work together in identifying necessary supports to be successful.

Recovery Support Services are available at no cost for individuals who reside in Northampton County and have active Medicaid Insurance. Recovery Support Services are available at no cost for individuals who reside in Lehigh County whether they have Medicaid Insurance or not.

Recovery Support Services (RSS) is a peer support program designed to help guide individuals in accessing treatment, meeting their basic needs, and establishing a recovery pathway within their community. An individual works with their Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) to address any areas of need and/or barriers. RSS incorporates harm reduction values into the services offered to the community and promotes physical and mental wellness. A collaborative approach is taken with the client to engage with all of the community resources available.

Simply put, a CRS is a broker of recovery resources in the community.
